Funny thing about cows. This one reminds me of the one my sisters and I use to ride around
on when we were kids. that cow was not even ours. We lived on an ordinary street in an ordinary neighborhood but at the end of the street, there was pasture. We crawled through old tree growth to the fence line to look at the cows and one in particular came to greet us every time we were there. It bent down to let us pet her. We named her Joanne, already assuming she was female. My youngest sister is named Joanne so no idea why we named a cow after her. Joanne (the cow) sat all the way down and let us get up onto her back. She was a gentle cow and walked around the pasture a bit and brought us back. It seemed completely natural to us when we were children for her to do this and we all think of her often. One day, she just wasn’t there anymore but she never left our memories.
